Why is there a QR code on my payslip?

It's your payslip's digital fingerprint, added by your employer's payroll system the moment it was created. If you ever share your payslip with a financial institution, they can scan it to check the document is genuine.

A payslip with its details blurred out and a padlock badge on the corner.

What this means for you

  • You are protected

Fake payslips are used in scams and loan fraud. The QR code lets a financial institution check that your payslip is real, so no one can use a fake or edited copy in your name.

  • Your details stay on your payslip

Your employer has not shared any of your personal details with Verifiabl. Scanning the code doesn't reveal your information.

  • Nothing changes for you

You receive your payslip exactly as before. The QR code only comes into play when you choose to share it with a financial institution, for example when you apply for a loan.

How it works

  1. 1

    Your payslip is created

Your employer's payroll system adds a digital fingerprint as it creates your payslip. That's the QR code.

  2. 2

    You share it

Your payslip stays private until you need to share it, for example with a financial institution you trust.

  3. 3

    They scan the code

The financial institution scans the QR code to check that your payslip is genuine and hasn't been changed.
